Where is the interview conducted?  People are most comfortable being interviewed where they live—whether at home or in a residential care facility.   All we need is a quiet location, and if you choose the video format, good lighting will contribute to the visual quality.

Is this a video or an audio interview?   Since some clients are camera shy, we have excellent equipment to do either, so it’s your choice.

How long does the interview take? We’ll need about 20-30 minutes to set up the equipment. The actual interview takes about 50 minutes.

How much does the interview cost? Prices vary depending on location. Click on the schedule an interview link to find out the cost for your area.

What if I want a longer interview?  An extended or second session can be scheduled for an additional fee.

I’m a bit nervous about the process.  How will I know what to say?  Your interviewer will guide you with questions you will know about ahead of time.  It will be conducted like a friendly chat in your living room.  Also, we are experienced editors and can edit out pauses and repetitions and arrange interview segments in a sequential order so that the interview flows smoothly.

Can I be interviewed with my spouse?  Absolutely!  Often the request is to interview each person individually and then to have a joint interview where they share stories about their marriage.  The price is based only on the length of the interview not the number of people.

What if I want to avoid discussing certain topics?  We will schedule a pre-interview consultation to go over any specific topics you would like to focus on or avoid.

What if I say something I wish I hadn’t?  Interviews can be edited for an extra fee.

Tell me more about the interviewer.  Your interviewer is trained specifically for this type of interview and will provide a confidentiality agreement with the person interviewed.  Save Their Story Interviewers have also passed a background check.

What do I receive after the interview is over?  You will receive two copies of your interview in DVD format for video versions or two copies in CD format for audio versions.

Can I get a VHS video cassette of the interview?  Yes, for an additional fee, we can also provide a VHS version.

When will I receive my copies? You will receive your unedited interview within five business days. Edited versions take longer.

Can I get a written transcript of the interview?  We will refer you to an experienced transcription service, also bound by a confidentiality agreement, that can provide a written transcript in a reasonable amount of time.

Can I give this as a gift? Yes. We have lovely gift certificates available for all of our services.

What is your Memory Archive?  This is a password-protected storage area on our website that allows you to store an audio version and/or a written transcript of the interview for 30 days.  You’ll choose a private password that allows only you to have access to the interview. You can share your password with whomever you wish, allowing friends and relatives anywhere in the world to download your transcript directly to their computer.

Is there an extra charge to use the archive?  No, the package price includes storage for 30 days.

Do I have to use the archive? No, it’s completely optional.

We strive to provide a quality service and guarantee your satisfaction!
